Why I Joined the Team
The What: I’m training for a 100-Mile Endurance Run in the hills of Vermont this July: http://www.vermont100.com/
The Why: I’m helping to raise money for a camp for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses: http://www.doublehranch.org/
These camps are amazing places where children who’ve been dealt a rough hand in life can go for one week out of the year and really enjoy themselves--a place to go and just be a kid.
Please join me in helping these kids experience a wonderful week of fun by CLICKING ON THE BIG PURPLE 'SUPPORT WALLY' tab and help me reach my goal of $10,000.
Any and all donations greatly appreciated!!
Sincerely,
Wally
As a member of Team Hole in the Wall, I am using my participation in the Team Challenge program as a way to raise funds for and bring awareness to Hole in the Wall Camps. Please help me reach (or even exceed!) my goal by clicking on my Support button. With your generosity, we can all share in the joy of knowing that we are helping to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Every summer at Hole in the Wall Camps, hundreds of children become athletes and actors, painters and poets, swimmers and singers, clowns and canoe paddlers, naturalists, equestrians, and hot air balloonists. It is amazing what these campers accomplish in one week; just as amazing are the obstacles they overcome on a daily basis, for these children suffer from serious illnesses such as cancer, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, and hemophilia. Camp helps keep them going – throughout the many challenges of serious illness.
Since 1988, Hole in the Wall Camps have served more than
135,000 campers* with more than
150 specific medical conditions from all
50 states and
39 countries,
free of charge. Hole in the Wall Camps were the dream of actor Paul Newman, who started the first camp in Connecticut.
